The University Library at Toyama Campus is on the second and third floor of the Library Building, with a total floor area of 1,015 m². The lower floor offers an information counter, a viewing section equipped with DVD players, an Active Learning Room and Active Learning Space, which students of Toyama Prefectural University can use for group discussion, self-study and so on. (Photo 1) The upper floor has an open shelf stack room and a reading area with tables and chairs. (Photo2)
The library has about 14,000 volumes with a focus on technical nursing books at the present time, and we are planning to increase the number of books gradually. Students can search for books or journals on-site with the help of librarians or online using the library database. The library is open to community residents as well. Details are available on the library home page (https://www.pu-toyama.ac.jp/library/toyama/).
The Education Building is a four-story building consisting of lecture rooms, training rooms and lounges, etc. Students in the Faculty of Nursing take classes mainly in this building. The building has an open ceiling in the center, which creates an expansive atmosphere, so students can have a relaxing time. The training room imitates a real hospital room. (Photo 1) Students train at hospitals across Toyama Prefecture as part of their classes. To prepare for that, they can learn sufficient nursing skills using state-of-the-art simulators in the training room. The lounges are spaces by windows with tables and chairs on each floor. (Photo 2) They are light, open spaces and students can use them freely for self-study and rest, etc.
