College of Technology
Department of Environmental Systems Engineering

Various kinds of problems are threatening our regional and world environments. To solve these problems and to sustain good environments for our future generations, we should rapidly change the social systems into one in which natural resources are recycled and sustained.

To tackle this challenge, our department believes that we must consider our personal environment and the social and natural environments which surround us as systems interacting with each other. From this standpoint we educate our students to be engineers who can deal with various aspects of environmental management, from surveying, analyzing, and controlling to conserving, rehabilitating and creating the environment.

Our educational program primarily focuses on water. We provide fieldwork on methods of efficient water utilization and water environment maintenance so that students can cope with water-related problems they may face in their jobs. Also, students study waste management and environmental policies. Besides these core subjects, we offer two introductory seminars for the first year students to assist them with study skills development and career designing.

The Associate Degree program is two years. For those who want to study further, we have an additional two-year Advanced program of Environmental Systems Engineering leading toward a Bachelor's Degree.
