Graduate School of Engineering
Information Systems Engineering
The Doctor's and Master's Program of Information Systems Engineering has three research programs: Information Media Engineering, Communication Network Engineering, and Software Engineering. The program of this department is designed for the practicing professional engineer.
1 Information Media Engineering
This laboratory focuses on the media processing technologies, the quality of service for the network modeling of the Internet, and the information network with extremely high performance for the multi-media communication in next generation network. The research programs include the theoretical computer science (formal language theory, algorithm and theory of computation) and the bioinformatics and the biological systems.

2 Communication Network Engineering
This laboratory provides a wide variety research for the broadband network service, the ubiquitous network and the satellite communications. Current projects include the development of support systems in daily life, the functionality of the Internet by using the photonic technologies and semiconductor devices (VLSI, CMOS devices, etc.) for advanced systems. The measurements of space environment are carried out using the sounding rocket, spacecraft, and the computer simulations for the satellite communications in the future.

3 Software Engineering
The objective of this laboratory is to design and create networked application systems for humanfriendly information society. Our research areas are language processing, computer graphics, WWW (World Wide Web) technology, security systems and ubiquitous computing.
Internet QoS measurement and data acquisition system
Performance test of instrument onboard sounding rocket
Developing the Ajax based bidirectional Web system
