Graduate School of Engineering
Intelligent Systems Design Engineering
Doctor's and Master's programs of Intelligent Systems Design Engineering have been running to promote international-level cutting-edge research in the following four divisions:
1 Intelligent Systems Engineering
We research on intelligent systems for the coming generation that requires sensing, modeling, designing, evaluating and manipulating.
Next generation robots not limited by early general ideas of robotics
Flexible production systems with future generation robots
User-friendly welfare applications

2 Intelligent Interface Engineering
Our division conducts research in human interface design and sophisticated pattern recognition systems. Current research projects include:
Key-input systems using eye-gaze and blink,
Real-time personal authentication using iris patterns,
Super-realistic auditory telepresense robot,
Speech communication system for voice impaired,
Computer aided learning for visually impaired,
Brain-machine interface,
Handwritten character recognition.

3 Micro-/Nano-Systems Engineering
This division has focused on fabricating micro-/nano-sacle materials and nondestructive measurements. The key technologies are:
Micro-/nano-processing (e.g. micromachines),
Micro-/nano-measurements (e.g. laser technology),
Nano-bioengineering (e.g. nano-medicine).

4 Electronic Nano-Device Engineering
We are performing research and education in following advanced subjects covering both fundamental and applied studies:
Preparation and application of ferroelectric and piezoelectric materials,
Large volume phase-controlled plasma generation and its applications,
Synthesis of carbon based new materials, magnetic properties and transport phenomena.
Haptic glove system for various virtual reality applications
Super realistic auditory telepre-sense robotl
Microchip design and processing for biomedical applications
